ICDE is teaming up with OEC and the French Ministry for Higher Education and Research to organize the annual Leadership Summit as the Open Education Leadership Summit 2018 on 3-4 December in Paris, hosted by Le Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers (CNAM).

International Council For Open And Distance Education (ICDE)

The International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) is the leading global membership organization for open, distance, flexible and online education, including e-learning, and draws its membership from institutions, educational authorities, commercial actors, and individuals.

ICDE has consultative partner status with UNESCO and shares UNESCO’s key value – the universal right to education for all. ICDE further derives its position from the unique knowledge and experience of its members throughout the world in the development and use of new methodologies and emerging technologies.

Open Education Consortium (OEC)

The OEC is a global network of educational institutions, individuals and organizations that support an approach to education based on openness, including collaboration, innovation and collective development and use of open educational materials. The Open Education Consortium is a non-profit, social benefit organization registered in the United States and operating worldwide.

French Ministry for Higher Education and Research

The French Ministry of Higher Education and Research prepares and implements the policy of the Government in the field of higher education, research and technology. The ministry prepares the governmental decisions related to the allocation of the State resources in the framework of the civil budget for research and technological development. Consultative committees, general inspection committees and a range of departments, services and offices help ministers draw up and implement the policy. The Directorate for European and international relations and cooperation is implementing the policy of the ministry in international relations and cooperation in the fields of education, higher education and research.



About the host


National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (LE CNAM)

The Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (le Cnam; National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts) is a doctoral degree-granting higher education institution and an Enginneering Grande Ecole, operated by the French government. Le Cnam is dedicated Life Long Learning, Research ans Scientific & Technical Culture.  It has a large museum of inventions accessible to the public.
